From senior management to our support team, on-site supervisors and electricians, our whole workforce is supported and empowered with the right knowledge, skills and experience that allows them to perform at their best. Our capabilities range from in-house design, bid, tendering and technical expertise through to exemplary health and safety, commercial and contract management.

Inspiring the future generation

One in five employees is an apprentice and re believe that inspiring new talent is key to our future capabilities and expertise. SJD provides curriculum and work placement opportunities to electrical students from Milton Keynes Colleges and members of our team attend local careers events to promote the varied opportunities in our industry. CEO Ruth Devine also volunteers as a Careers and Enterprise Company / Enterprise Adviser, supporting schools and colleges to enhance careers provision for years 7-13.

Making a positive impact on the local community

Working with our local clients we have improved the performance, safety and security of over 800 businesses around the Milton Keynes area. We also subsidise or provide pro bono services to local charities, including MK Community Foundation tenants such as MK Play Association, to ensure their electrical installations are safe.

Skills and training embedded across the company

Our continual focus on skills and competence ensures workmanship and safety performance is always of the highest standard. All electricians are fully qualified either via an apprenticeship or the equivalent experienced worker route and have a valid ECS card to demonstrate their competence. Staff receive all relevant regulatory Health and Safety training and hold up to date licences. One in five employees are apprentices, in a variety of different roles.

Comprehensive management expertise

Since our formation SJD has developed in-house expertise to provide a full turnkey service across all building service engineering disciplines, covering design, estimating, scheduling and quality management. Our experienced office-based team of contract managers, designers and estimators will work with you to prepare high quality bids, pre-contract information, project coordination and ongoing design and programme management.
